Our Healthcare Initiative is focused on improving the care and medical experiences of individuals living with dementia and their families. This subcommittee brings together healthcare professionals, caregivers, and community partners to identify challenges, share practical solutions, and promote more dementia-informed, compassionate care throughout the healthcare system.

Support Group Guidelines: This initiative is developing practical guidelines for individuals and organizations starting or facilitating dementia caregiver support groups. The goal is to promote consistent, high-quality groups by outlining recommended practices, facilitator responsibilities, group expectations, confidentiality considerations, and standards that help create a safe, supportive, and effective environment for participants.

The Chippewa Valley Dementia Conference is an annual educational event dedicated to improving dementia care across our region. Each year, the conference rotates among Eau Claire, Chippewa, and Dunn counties, bringing together family caregivers, health care professionals, students, community members, and anyone interested in enhancing the lives of people living with dementia. Through engaging keynote speakers, practical breakout sessions, and valuable community resources, participants gain knowledge, inspiration, and connections that support compassionate, person-centered dementia care.
